Appendix B: Dex.exe command-line parameters

The program Dex.exe supports command-line parameters that make it possible to start the program in a variety of ways depending on your needs. You can use the parameters together with the publishing job execution options described in Executing a publishing job.

Note The program must run under a specific user account and does not run as a service. To avoid having to manually start the program after a computer restart, configure the program as a scheduled task as described in Executing a publishing job.

Tip    In the following description, you can start the program with a command line or a batch file (to also perform other actions) even though only the command line is shown.

The program's command-line parameters are described in the following table.

Dex.exe command-line parameters
Parameter Name Description
<JobCode>

Starts the program and executes the specified publishing job immediately. This parameter is useful when you want to schedule a publishing job to run using the Windows Task Scheduler. When the publishing job is finished, the program will terminate. If no publishing job with the specified name can be found, the program will terminate with an error.

Example command line:

"C:\Program Files\BlueCielo Publisher\Dex.exe" "45E2E0"
/user

Starts the program in interactive mode to monitor results.

Example command line:

"C:\Program Files\BlueCielo Publisher\Dex.exe" "45E2E0" /user
